Cambodia is fascinating a country with an intriguing but tragic history. I travelled to Cambodia in 2007 prior to having my daughter.
In my personal opinion Cambodia is not suitable for young children and would be best done with older children who have the maturity and ability to deal with the gruesome facts of war. Even if you don’t intend to visit places dealing with Cambodia’s devastating past, poverty is apparent everywhere, with toddlers and young children aggressively begging tourists in the streets for the money and food. This may be difficult for children to understand and at times may be frightening. I would recommend children to be at least 15 years of age or older depending upon the individual child.
I am still busy preparing my material for Cambodia so in the meantime please enjoy some photographs from my time there or alternatively you might like to purchase a guide from Lonely Planet (see link below). If you have any questions for your upcoming trip please don’t hesitate to ask.
