There are so many wonderful things to do in Paris with children, so I recommend when planning your family trip to Paris, you allow yourself at least a week!  Unfortunately, we only had a few days to explore Paris, but it was still enough time to see some of the very best things to do in Paris with kids.

If you’re planning a Paris family vacation, then this guide is perfect for you!  In this things to do Paris – Kids guide I’m going to share with you some of the fun things to do with kids in Paris – for children of all ages, from tiny toddlers to teenagers.  Paris is full of family friendly museums, exhibitions and attractions so you won’t see them all, but hopefully after reading the below information you can make an informed decision about which of the Paris attractions for kids and kid’s activities in Paris will suit your family best.

The Best Things to do in Paris with Kids

Throughout this section, I have provided a comprehensive guide to all the fun things to do in Paris for kids.  I tried to provide as much information as possible to make your planning easier, including locations, opening hours and ticket prices.

You will note that for many of the things to do in Paris with children I often recommend you purchase your tickets in advance from Klook or Get Your Guide.  Yes, I will receive a small commission if you do purchase from these sites – but as you will see in most cases you will also save yourself a bit of cash in doing so.  Other times the price may be the same, but you will save time by not having to line up at the attraction for tickets.   I use these sites myself to book tickets for our travels around the world.  Sometimes it is cheaper to book tickets elsewhere and I will let you know under each attraction if that is the case.

Please note that all prices mentioned were correct at the time of writing and may fluctuate depending upon changes to currency conversion and rate increases.

1. Eiffel Tower with Kids

If you’re traveling to Paris with kids, the Eiffel Tower is most likely on the top of your to do list.  No doubt your children have seen this magnificent structure in tv shows and movies as well as perhaps in their favourite story books.

Whilst of course you will no doubt be wanting to get to the top of the Eiffel Tower, one of the best Eiffel Tower with kids experiences is to get some family photographs with the tower in the background.  The best places to do this is from the gardens at Palais de Chaillot or along the Pont d’lena – the bridge just before you reach the tower.  Once you’re at the tower you are far too close to get any great shots – so be sure to head to one of these places.

When it comes to the tower itself, there are in fact three different levels that you can take the elevator up to.  All levels have fantastic views across Paris.  As the Eiffel Tower is one of the most popular family things to do in Paris – it does get busy – so it’s highly recommended that you book in advance.

The best place to buy tickets is straight from the Eiffel Tower website – don’t be followed into booking an overpriced ticket from a guided tour – it’s not necessary. Click here for full details and to book your tickets. 

No doubt a visit to the Eiffel Tower is among the top 10 things to do in Paris with family and the best thing is, it’s perfect for kids of all ages whether you’re after things to do in Paris with teenagers or little ones. 

Location:  Champ de Mars, 5 Avenue Anatole France

Opening Hours: Varies depending on the time of the year, but generally open from 9 am until late in the evening.

Prices:  Different prices available starting at 10.20 € to take the stairs to the 2^nd level up to 25.20 € to take the lift to the summit.  There are discounted prices for children and kids under 4 are free.

 

2. Paris Sewer Museum 

If you’re looking for usual and interesting places to visit in Paris with the kids – take them to the Paris Sewer Museum. At the museum you will hear many stories of the history of the Paris sewers and the modern-day functions of this highly efficient system. 

Location: Pont de l’Alma, place de la Résistance

Opening Hours: Saturday to Wednesday from 11am to 5pm (4pm in Winter).

Prices: Adult ticket costs 4.2€ and children are 3.4€.

3. Arc De Triomphe

Whether you’re travelling to Paris with teenagers or younger ones, the Arc De Triomphe is another well-known Parisian icon that the kids will most likely recognise.  This magnificent structure and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier below have significant historical meaning between them. When you visit there is ample information to understand their importance to the French people.

Just be warned if you’re visiting Paris with young children – there are 284 stairs to climb to the top of the fifty-meter arch – and it is tiring!  But we managed it with a few short breaks along the way.  The staircase is a narrow spiral staircase which Myla found quite cool.

The view up the top is well worth it though – with great views of the city and the twelve roads that lead to the Arc De Triomphe.

Whether you decide to take the hike up the top of the Arc De Triomphe or just admire it from the outside – I highly recommend it as one of the places to visit in Paris with family.

Location: Place Charles de Gaulle – take the subterranean stairs located on the Champs Elysées and Rue de la Grande-Armée.

Opening Hours: Daily from 10 am, till either 10.30pm or 11pm depending on the time of year.

4. Walk the Champs Elysees

 Whilst your visiting Paris with kids – either before or after you visit the Arc De Triomphe, be sure to take a walk along the most famous grand boulevard in the world that lined with trees. Take in the grandeur of the hotels, boutiques, restaurants and department stores along the way.Need inspiration to visit Paris? 

 

5. Atelier Des Lumieres

One of the super fun things to do in Paris with kids is a trip to see the Atelier Des Lumieres.   This is one of those super cool digital art exhibitions that are starting to pop up around the world.   We ran out of time to see it which I was soooo disappointed about – but we do have tickets to see the similar exhibit in Tokyo!

Location: 38 Rue Saint-Maur

Opening Hours: Daily from 10 am – closing at 6pm Monday to Thursday, 10pm Friday and Saturday and 7pm on Sunday.

Prices: 14.5€ per adult, 9.5€ for 5-25 year olds, under 5 years are free. A family ticket is 42€.  Click here to purchase tickets.

 

6. Paris Story

The Paris Story Movie is a great way to begin your adventure in Paris. With detailed stories of the history Paris and all its attractions you will have a much greater appreciation as you travel through Paris. You also get to see Paris from a completely different perspective than your walk-through streets and view from the high platforms throughout the city.

I really enjoyed this, but Myla got a bit bored, so probably not one of the ideal if you’re visiting Paris with young kids – but I think older kids who have an interest in history will enjoy it as I did.

Location: 11 bis rue Scribe

Opening Hours: Hourly screenings from 10am to 5pm daily.

7. Walt Disney Studios and Disneyland Paris for Kids

 If you are visiting Paris with children, Disneyland is a must visit!  In fact the only reason we came to Paris was so that I could take Myla to Disneyland!

I’ve also been to Disneyland in Los Angeles and I was a bit concerned, because remember how crazy big it was and how tired I was at the end of the day – and that was when I was in my early twenties!  But I have to say I really liked Disneyland Paris for kids because its much smaller – which I think is also why many people don’t rate it.  But if you are coming to Paris with young children or looking for things to do in Paris with toddlers – then this is perfect as it’s not too big at all.  Really easy to walk around everywhere.

I won’t go in to detail about Disneyland Paris – because that would need a whole blog post in itself.  However I will say that we only had one day at Disneyland and whilst we didn’t see everything, we certainly had a wonderful experience.  

There is in fact two different parks to visit – Disneyland and Walt Disney Studios – both are well worth visiting.  Here’s a brief overview of the parks.

• Head to Disneyland Park to explore the Big Thunder Mountain, Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, and take on the Tower of Terror. Don’t miss meeting some of the most beloved characters in Disney: from Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Peter Pan, to the Disney Princesses in parade.

• In Walt Disney Studios Park, you’ll experience incredible special effects in Armageddon, learn about how Disney’s animated films are created in the Art of Disney Animation, and even meet Marvel superheroes.

Whilst at visiting Disneyland we also stayed on site at Disney’s Hotel Santa Fe – which is basically the most budget Disney hotel on site.  We got a great deal through Booking.com and the benefit of staying on site was we could easily walk to Disneyland and we got to go to the park one hour before it opened which I highly recommend so you can do some of the more popular rides.

If you don’t plan on staying at Disneyland, it’s also one of the great day trips from Paris with kids.  It’s super easy to get there by train from the city.  And don’t forget to come prepared – you can get some tips here on what to pack in your Disney day bag.

8. Notre Dame

Unfortunately, Notre Dame recently suffered extreme fire damage and is not currently open to the public – in fact it may be years before it’s reopened to the public.  However, I could not write this article without mention Notre Dame – one of Paris’ iconic landmarks.

Notre Dame is the most famous gothic cathedral of the Middle Ages with its religious relics and sculptures, liturgical ornaments, beautiful stained-glass rose windows, impressive facades, portals, naves, transepts, and choirs.  

Honestly Notre Dame is one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen!  And don’t think this is just for adults, Myla absolutely loved it too, she loved seeing the colourful glass stained windows, learning about the various tombs and there was a lovely children display there when we visited.

Opening Hours: Currently closed due to extensive fire damage.

Prices:  Entry is free, but tickets are required to climb the tower, although if you have the Paris City Pass entry is included.

 

9. Sainte Chapelle 

Sainte-Chapelle is an amazingly beautiful chapel with its 1113 refurbished stained glass windows. The windows depict different scenes from the bible with colour and detail that you can only imagine the time and effort that it would take for a craftsman to create. Built in just 7 years in the 13^th Century this spectacle has outlived the test of time.

Opening Hours: Daily 9 am-5 pm from October to March and 9 am-7 pm from April to September

10. Moulin Rouge

So when you think of things for kids to do in Paris – I know not everyone will agree with me here but Moulin Rouge might be something you consider.  If you’re family like ours and loves everything singing and dancing, then I think a visit to the Moulin Rouge a great place to go.  Of course parents will need to make their decisions as to whether their children are mature enough to see the show as there is some breasts on display, but other than that I think the show is fantastic for the whole family.

There is no real story line or anything to the show, rather just lots of singing, dancing and some other entertainment such as jugglers, magicians and acrobats.  Myla and my favourite without a doubt was the can can dancers!  The energy is amazing!

Even if you don’t see the show – definitely go check the Moulin Rouge out at night.  It looks spectacular with all the lights and of course the large windmill recognised the world over.

Opening Hours: Shows commence at 7pm, 9pm and 11pm daily

Prices:  Tickets are certainly not cheap and it does pay to shop around – we bought our tickets from Klook which are 10€ cheaper, includes a 1.5 city bus tour (we didn’t do this though) and ½ bottle of champagne for me a two soft drinks for Myla. Click here to see current Klook prices.

 

 

11. Père Lachaise Cemetery

Probably another place that doesn’t automatically come to mind when considering what to do in Paris with children – but I think it’s another one of those places that depending on your family could be really interesting.

We didn’t get to go because we were short on time, but I was keen to go and I think Myla would have found it really interesting.  Here you will find some of the world’s greatest names in the arts, sciences, literature and of course history.  Some of the more well-known names are musicians such as Jim Morrison, Chopin, Maria Calais and Edith Piaf, as well as writers such as Oscar Wilde.

Location: 16 Rue du Repos, 75020

Opening Hours: Daily with open hours varying depending upon the time of year but generally from 8 am to 6 pm.

Price: Free

 

12. Boat Cruise on the Seine

I think one of the top 10 things to do in Paris with kids is a boat cruise on the Seine.  This famous river flows through the heart of Paris, separating it’s left and right banks and is the perfect way to see some of Paris’ iconic attractions such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Louvre and the Musée d’Orsay, all from the comfort of your own seat.

If this sounds perfect to you, here are some options you could consider:

• Seine River Sightseeing Cruise: This 1-hour cruise starts from right by the Eiffel Tower with cruises departing every thirty minutes from 10:30 am to 11:30 pm (From November to February the last cruise departs at 9:00 pm). Tickets cost 15€ with child tickets (ages 4 – 11) available for 7€, children age 3 and under travel free. Click here to book your tickets now.

• Paris Illuminations Cruise: This 1-hour cruise has you gliding along the River Seine as the sun sets, casting famous monuments ablaze. Probably one of the most romantic things to do in Paris, as well as one of the most romantic things to do in Europe!  The cruise leaves from Port de la Bourdonnais, Pontoon No. 3, with a boat departing every thirty minutes after the sunset – perfect if you’re looking for things to do in Paris at night with family. Tickets are 15€, with child tickets (4 – 11) costing 7€, children under age 4 travel free. Click here to book your tickets now.

13. Sacre Coeur

Another one of the great Paris things to do with kids is to take the cable car up to the top of Montmartre to see the Sacre Coeur Church.  This is an iconic structure that crowns the hilly heights of Montmartre and provides fantastic views across the city.  At the bottom of the hill there is a carousel and playground for the little ones.

Whilst you’re there wonder around the streets of Montmartre – it is fairly touristy but it’s a gorgeous little area of Paris.

Opening Hours: Daily from 6 am to 10:30 pm

14. Louvre

When it comes to things to do in Paris with family, not every parent might want to take their kids to an art museum, but perhaps you’ve always wanted to see the Mona Lisa in person or maybe you have older children that have a real interest in art.  You might be surprised in fact at how interesting the Louvre can be for school age children.  And if any older children or parents have read the Da Vinci Code – then you’ll no doubt want to visit.

The Louvre of course is one of the most well renowned art museums in the world. The building was once the home of the king of France and now houses one of the most extensive and impressive art collections in the world. The major works are Venus de Milo, the Coronation of Napoleon I and of course Leonardo de Vinci’s Mona Lisa.

Just a note if you are visiting with younger children, all strollers must be left behind at the cloakroom.

Even if you decide not to go inside the Louvre, it’s still worth coming to check out the exterior.  It’s a gorgeous old building and there is a gorgeous fountain outside and it’s worth checking out the impressive glass pyramid structure in the main courtyard.

15. Musee d’Orsay

Right across from the Louvre is another great museum the Musee d’Orsay which is housed in a lovely old railway station.  The Musée d’Orsay is a national museum of fine and applied arts, featuring work primarily from France between 1848 and 1914. The collection ranges from paintings and sculptures to photography and decorative arts. Here you will find work from artists such as Monet, Manet, Renoir, Van Gogh and more.  Musee d’Orsay may not be one of the ideal things to do in Paris with young children, but for older children taking art at school, it’s a great opportunity for them.

Opening Hours: Daily, (except Mondays) from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm and 9.45 pm on Thursdays.

16. Catacombs

These tunnels were dug out in the 18 th century in order to deal with the cities overflowing cemeteries.  The catacombs are said to be filled with around 6 million Parisians.  Whilst certainly not an attraction for young children easily frightened, in fact even adults who are easily frightened may want to give this one a miss – however there is no denying that that the Catacombs are certainly an intriguing and interesting place to visit.  Just be aware that there are a lot of human bones and skulls on display and it does make for an eerie place to visit.  But the history here is incredible.

17. Montparnasse

For a breath-taking view of Paris, soar up the Montparnasse Tower Observation Deck to discover a view that can’t disappoint. Rivalling the views from that of the Eiffel Tower, this tower is the perfect vantage point to take in Paris’ true beauty. It’s an incredible experience to visit the tower at sunset, and watch the city transition from day to night, watching as the city lights up and sparkles against the dark.

Opening Hours: 9:30 am until 11:30 pm (April to September) and 10:30 pm (October to March).

Prices: 18€ per adult, 15€ per youth (12-18), 9.50€ per child ( 4-11) and under 3s free – click here to book online.

 

18. Cite des Sciences et de l’Industrie 

For families looking to embrace their scientific sides, look no further than the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie (“City of Science and Industry”). The Cité is the largest science museum in the entirety of Europe, and boasts a vast collection of attractions, some of which include; a planetarium, a submarine, an IMAX theatre and special areas designed for children and teenagers, a great destination for any family.

As well as the general exhibit, there are specific areas especially for 2-7-year olds or 5-12-year olds which you pad additional for and your visit is limited to 90 minutes. 

We didn’t make it here, but families rave about this being one of top things to do in Paris with kids.  Also perfect if you’re looking for indoor activities or things to do in Paris when it rains.

Opening Hours: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm from Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm Sunday and closed Monday.

19. Aquarium de Paris 

When it comes to fun places for kids in Paris – the Aquarium de Paris has to be on the list.  The Aquarium de Paris houses over 500 species of fish and invertebrates and has roughly 10,000 different species of plants. The largest tank (known as the big basin) hosts 38 sharks of seven different species within 3 million litres of water. In total the aquarium has 5.3 million litres of water divided into 43 different basins.

Opening Hours: Daily from 10 am to 7 pm.

20. Parc Asterix Amusement Park 

Whilst tourists might not have heard of Asterix, in France Asterix is a household name – known for his adventures within comics and television shows. Parc Astérix is an amusement park based upon the theme of Asterix. This amusement is particularly well known for its large variety of rollercoasters, so if excitement is your middle name then Parc Astérix is the game!  The Parc Asterix amusement park is among the best places to visit in Paris with family.

Passes 

Purchasing a city pass is often a great way to save money if you intend on visiting multiple attractions during your trip to Paris with kids.  Some passes even include transportation.  As to which pass is the right choice for you, really depends on which attractions you intend to visit.  I recommend you compare the pass price to the individual attraction prices and make the decision from there.  Below are a few I recommend considering: 

Paris City Pass: Turbo Pass 

The Paris City Pass gives you admission to over 60 attractions along with free travel on the metro, buses and trains. Let’s take a quick look at the savings you could get from the top attractions:

• Boat Cruise on the River Seine – 15€
• The Louvre – 17€
• Arc de Triomphe Viewing Platform – 12€
• Sainte-Chapelle – 10€
• Musee d’Orsay – 14€
• Paris Story – 9.50€
• Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie – 12€
• Guided Tour: Montmarte and Sacre Coeur – 12€
• 2 Day Paris transport pass – 21.50€

Given an adult 2 day pass costs 104.90€ for an adult, even with just the above attractions you’ve saved 18.10€.  Of course, you will need to consider whether you will go to all the attractions covered by the pass to determine if it’s worthwhile for you.

Paris Museum Pass 

There are a lot of great museums in Paris and if you intend on a visiting a few of them you will most likely find that the Paris Museum Pass will save you money.  The Paris Museum Pass provides entry to over 50 museums. Let’s take a quick look at the savings you could get:

• The Louvre – 17€
• Arc de Triomphe Viewing Platform – 12€
• Sainte-Chapelle – 10€
• Musee d’Orsay – 14€

Given a 2-day museum pass costs only 48€, you can see that even if you only visit the four museums above you have already saved 5€.  If you intend on visiting even more museums, the savings really add up.  There is also a 4-day museum pass for 62€.  Just remember that generally kids are a free at museums so you don’t need to purchase a pass for them.  Click here to purchase the Paris Museum Pass

 

Paris Pass 

The Paris Pass is yet another pass that gives you admission to over 60 attractions along with free travel on the metro, buses and trains and travel on the Big Bus Hop on Hop Off Tour. Let’s take a quick look at the savings you could get from some of the top attractions:

• The Louvre – 17€
• Arc de Triomphe Viewing Platform – 12€
• Montparnasse Tower – 18€
• Musee d’Orsay – 12€
• Paris Story – 9.50€

If you’re the sort of person that prefers someone to take care of everything for you, and not have to worry about navigating your way around, you may prefer one of these tours.

City Tour and Seine River Cruise 

If you’re short on time in Paris and need a quick overview of the highlights this city tour and river cruise is well worth it.  In fact, it’s really good value actually given a Seine River Cruise is around 15€ and this tour includes both a city tour and cruise for 31€. 

The 1.5-hour city tour takes place onboard a bus, there is no walking around involved.  You’ll pass by some of the city’s iconic landmarks such as the Louvre Museum, Arc de Triomphe, the lavish Opera House, and gold-domed Les Invalides.

You’ll also get the opportunity to see even more landmarks from the cruise including the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame – all while listening to commentary where you will learn more about this fascinating city.

City Tour 

If you like the sound of the above but have even less time – then skip the cruise and just do the city tour by bus.

Family Friendly Hotels in Paris: Where to Stay in Paris with Kids 

To give you a brief overview of the geography of the city of Paris, the areas are split into districts, also known as arrondissements. Arrondissements are numbered and starting from just north of the Seine, swirl out clockwise. This means that the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th arrondissements are the most central with the higher numbers being further out and typically more residential.

In terms of the best area to stay in Paris with family, I’m not really sure if there is one, as all the main attractions are spread out and so you will need to take transport between them all anyway.  Plus Paris accommodation is expensive so it’s probably best just to stay in one of the family friendly hotels in Paris that’s in your budget and most importantly super close to a metro station.  Also consider one of the family friendly Paris hostels too.

If I had to choose where to stay in Paris with family – I’d probably stay somewhere in the Latin Quarter by Notre Dame which is in the 5^th arrondissement or around the Louvre in the 1^st arrondissement.  By staying in either of these areas you will be able to walk to a few different attractions.  However like I said above – just choose one of the family friendly Paris hotels within your budget but close to a metro.

Apartment dans Le Marais

• Apartment dans Le Marais is located in the 4^th arrondissement, surrounded by lots of places to eat and shops. It is right in front of the Estacion de Saint-Paul metro station, 10-minute walk from Notre Dame and 20 minutes from the Louvre. 

• The apartment is great for families including two double beds and double sofa bed. Also included in the apartment is a kitchenette, washing machine, dining table, lounge area and TV.

• Whilst not listed on TripAdvisor, this apartment is rated 7.6/10 on Booking.com.

• At the time of publishing the best rate was $226 AUD per night for 2 adults and 2 children on Booking.com.

Avalon Hotel Paris Gare du Nore

• Avalon Hotel is located in the in the 4^th arrondissement, surrounded by lots of places to eat and shops. It is just 280 metres from Gare du Nord which is the main train station in Paris – so perfect for day trips, long distance travel or for visiting Disneyland.   The hotel is also only 10-minute walk away from the Sacre Coeur and the gorgeous streets of Montmarte. 

• Families are best accommodated in the quadruple rooms which contain one double bed and 2 single beds – the beds are separated by a small wall. The room also includes a TV.

• 85% of people on TripAdvisor rate this hotel as average or above, whilst it is rated 8.2/10 on Booking.com.

• At the time of publishing the best rate was $161 AUD per night for 2 adults and 2 children on Booking.com.

Getting to Paris 

You will most likely arrive in Paris via train or plane.  I have covered how to get into the city via both modes of transport below.

Via the Airport

The Paris airport is Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport and the best way to get from the airport to the city centre is either by train or Uber – depending upon how many people in your group.

Of course Uber is convenient as it will take you straight from the airport to your hotel in around 20 minutes and the cost is around $50-$70 USD.  In most cases for families this will be the best option.

The other option is to take a train.  You can easily take the RER B train from either terminal 2 or 3 to the Paris’ main train station Gare du Nord.  From here you can catch a connecting train to your hotel.  Trains leave every 10 or so minutes, takes around 30 minutes and costs 11.40 € per person.  Children under 4 are free.

Via the Train 

As mentioned above the main station in Paris is Gare du Nord.  If you’re traveling around Europe by train, this is mostly likely where you will arrive in Paris.  We arrived in Paris via train, as we had Eurail Global Passes.  You can learn more about the different Eurail options here. From Gare du Nord you can easily change to another train to reach your accommodation. 

Getting Around Paris 

Many of the Paris attractions are clustered together so you can easily walk between a few at a time.  However overall the city is well spread out, so you will need transport to get you from one section of the city to another. 

Taking the metro is the easiest way to get around and the system is comprehensive making it super easy to get anywhere in Paris.  You can purchase tickets from automated machines each time you arrive.  One Paris Metro ticket costs 1.90 € (no discount for children) and is valid for one trip on the metro, RER train (within zone 1 and 2) or bus.  You can also purchase a pack of 10 which costs 14.90 € (7.45 € for children)- so you save a little doing it this way.  With one metro ticket you can transfer from line to another.

Depending upon how often you will be using the metro, another option is to purchase a Paris Visite travelcard.  These passes provide unlimited travel on the metro, RER trains, buses and trams and can be purchases as a 1, 2, 3 or 5 day pass.  They can also be used to travel from the airport to the city centre.

Passes start at 13.90 € per person for a 1 day pass up to 43.20 € for a 5-day pass – children under 4 ride free.  These passes can provide great value and convenience depending upon the number of trips you intend to make, however like any of these cards, you are best to work out in advance the costs of individual journeys and work out which is best value for you.

As mentioned above (under the passes section), having the Paris City Pass is an ideal way of getting around the city, as not only do you get unlimited use of public transport but you also get entry to all the top attractions too. 

Hop on Hop Off Buses

Another option for getting around Paris is to use the Hop On Hop Off bus, which not only will take you around to all the major attractions but also provide some commentary too.  You can purchase a 1, 2 or 3 day pass which starts at 30 € per person.  Click here for more information about the hop on hop off buses.  For an additional 7 € you can also take a 1 hour cruise down the Seine River – click here for further details.

 

Paris: Our Verdict 

Paris is just brilliant – I could easily spend a few weeks here doing nothing but strolling the gorgeous little streets and eating all the great food.  But in terms of visiting with kids, its also got lots on offer.  There is numerous fantastic museums and heaps of places to visit in the surrounding region as well.

Honestly you can easily see the highlights in a few days or really explore the city over a week or more.
