With plenty of dog parks and dog friendly beaches around the Sunshine Coast, there is no reason to leave your furry friend home on your family holiday to the Sunny Coast. So, if you’re convinced you need to bring your fur baby along on the trip – next, you’re going to need to book some Sunshine Coast pet friendly accommodation.

When it comes to Sunshine Coast dog friendly accommodation – there isn’t a massive choice. However, you may be pleasantly surprised by just how much good quality accommodation IS available. 

Most of the pet friendly Sunshine Coast accommodation is offered in large private homes. So they do tend to be a fair bit more expensive than your average budget family accommodation on the Sunshine Coast.

The good news though is that there is pet friendly accommodation in all areas of the Sunshine Coast. So, no matter which Sunshine Coast beach you have your heart set on, you’re likely to find a great place for your trip. Plus, given they are mostly private homes, accommodation is spacious and often you’ll get your very own private swimming pool too. The Best Pet Friendly Accommodation – Sunshine Coast

Below I’ve reviewed the pet friendly accommodation for Noosa, Caloundra, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore and Coolum. 

Dog Friendly Accommodation Noosa 

Noosa is not only the perfect spot for a family holiday, but it’s also an excellent spot for pet friendly holidays too. With a range of great dog beaches, including the absolutely stunning (and aptly named) Dog Beach at the Noosa Spit and the northern end of Sunshine Beach and the southern end of Sunrise Beach. There is also an off leash dog park at Alex Dan Park on Cooyar Street.

Below I’ve listed my recommendations for Noosa pet friendly accommodation.

HighTide On Noosa Sound 

When it comes to pet friendly accommodation, Noosa has, this lovely home has all the comforts you will need for a great holiday with the whole family.

HighTide On Noosa Sound is a three bedroom unit that can sleep up to 6 guests in two large double beds and two single beds. There is a safe balcony and securely fenced ground floor terrace area if you prefer your four-legged friend to sleep outside at night. The unit features free WiFi, air conditioning, a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, washing machine and two bathrooms.

This Noosa accommodation – pet friendly option, also has access to a private outdoor swimming pool and garden area perfect for kids and pets alike. There is also a BBQ and outdoor seating area and free private parking.

This unit is in a great area, just a short walk to Noosa River. The dog beach is only 2km away, where dogs can enjoy some off leash time while the kids chase them around in the shallows. Noosa Beach and Hastings Street are also just 1.5km away.

Why we love it?

This Noosa dog friendly accommodation has a secure terrace and garden area that is great for keeping kids and pets contained.

What’s not to love?

It is a little distance from popular dog parks (about 5km), but Dog Beach is still close and a great off leash opportunity.

Summary 

Great for families that want spacious and modern Sunshine Coast accommodation. Pet friendly accommodation at High Tide on Noosa Sound is perfectly equipped for humans and pets alike in a nice area with a little outdoor space for everyone to enjoy.

Oasis House 

If you have a large family, need somewhere that a few families can share or just feel like having plenty of space to get away from the kids, take a look at Oasis, a great dog friendly accommodation Sunshine Coast provides.

This massive 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom house can sleep up to 11 guests in 5 double beds and one single bed. The house features air conditioning and free WiFi. There is a large open plan living and dining area and a fully stocked kitchen with a dishwasher.

Guests also have access to a pool table, private swimming pool, a fenced sun terrace/garden area, an onsite squash court, and a wellness centre with a hot tub. In addition, there is free private parking at the house for multiple vehicles.

Oasis house is in a lovely quiet area just 850m from Noosa River at Gympie Terrace, a lovely scenic place to walk the dog. You will also be 3km from Dog Beach or just 2.2km from the popular Weyba creek dog park. 

Why we love it?

This home is one of the fabulous Noosa pet friendly holiday rentals, which has a great location. In addition, it’s within easy walking distance to Noosa River, which is great for a stroll with the whole family.

What’s not to love?

Apart from the pool area, this pet friendly Noosa accommodation doesn’t have any garden area for the kids or your pet to run around.

Summary 

It is a huge holiday home, perfect for larger families or groups who want plenty of space and don’t want to leave their pets at home.

Noosa De Villa 

Families looking for a home away from home will love Noosa De Villa.  This pet friendly holiday accommodation, Sunshine Coast provides, has a modern interior and stylish décor.

This 3 bedroom townhouse is perfect for larger families and can sleep up to 6 guests in two large double beds and two single beds. There is a really well equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, large open plan living/dining area, two bathrooms and a securely fenced balcony that’s perfect for dogs.

This pet friendly accommodation in Noosa is air conditioned throughout with high ceilings and ceiling fans as well. There is free WiFi for guests and Netflix available on the large flat screen television. Guests also have access to a shared yard and pool with the other two townhouses.

This property is in a great location with plenty of conveniences nearby, like a supermarket just 900m away and Hastings Street just 1km away. In addition, the popular Dog Beach is just 2.1km away to entertain your pets, and the dog park at Weyba Creek is just 3.5km away. 

Why we love it?

This property is in a great location close to the main area of Noosa at a great price.

What’s not to love?

There are quite a few stairs within the townhouse so it may not be suitable for those with very young children.

Summary 

Large families who want to be in a good location in Noosa will love this Sunshine Coast accommodation. Dog friendly accommodation doesn’t mean having to compromise on quality or style at Noosa De Villa.

Pet Friendly Accommodation Caloundra

Caloundra offers the most affordable places in terms of great pet friendly accommodation on the Sunshine Coast. You can get spacious homes with a swimming pool in a great location at similar prices as you would get a hotel.

Dog friendly beaches in Caloundra include Currimundi Beach and Shelly Beach and off leash dog parks can be found at Coochin Park in Dicky Beach and Graham Stewart Park in Currimundi.

Below I’ve listed a range of great pet friendly holiday accommodation Caloundra has.

Kennedy Parade – Golden Beach 

If you need a budget friendly option, take a look at this Kennedy Parade pet friendly accommodation. Golden Beach, Caloundra doesn’t have to cost a fortune, even with all the kids and pets in tow!

This dog friendly accommodation Caloundra has is great for families with two bedrooms to sleep up to 5 guests.  One room has a double bed, while the other has one set of bunk beds with a double on the bottom and a single on top. This single level, air conditioned house has a living/dining area, fully equipped kitchen, laundry room and a great outdoor deck with extra seating.

Outside the property is a securely fenced grassed garden with plenty of space for the kids and pets to burn off some energy. There is also a private swimming pool in the yard, so the kids are sure to be thoroughly entertained.

This Caloundra pet friendly accommodation is in a really great location with a supermarket and shopping centre 850m away and Golden Beach within walking distance at less than 250m away. However, if you feel like venturing a little further, Bulcock Beach is about 1.5km away.

Why we love it?

This Caloundra dog friendly accommodation has a garden and private pool, which are absolutely perfect for kids and pets so that everyone will be happy.

What’s not to love?

Unfortunately, there’s no dishwasher like many of the other options in this guide, but it’s a small compromise for the great price.

Ultimate Beach Shack – Bryce Street – Moffat Beach 

If you and your pets love being close to the beach, you’ll love “the ultimate beach shack” pet friendly accommodation. Caloundra and surrounding areas are full of great dog parks and beaches where you can take your four legged friend to burn off some energy.

This 2 bedroom Moffat Beach dog friendly holiday home is air-conditioned and can sleep a maximum of 6 guests in two large double beds and two single beds. The living, dining and kitchen are open plan and well laid out, with the kitchen fully stocked so guests can cater for themselves. There is also private parking, a small garden and even a private pool.

This Moffat Beach pet friendly accommodation is in a prime location; just a few minutes walk through the park to Moffat beach and 750m away from Dickey Beach. Dog friendly beaches Caloundra has, such as Shelly Beach, is just 1km away. Here dogs can run off leash between 4 pm and 8 am. 

Why we love it?

The location is pretty great, with a park next door and the beach just a short walk away.

What’s not to love?

This pet friendly accommodation Moffat Beach has is a little smaller than some other options in this guide.

Summary 

If you’re after great pet friendly holiday accommodation Caloundra has, this beautiful beach shack right near Moffat Beach is a great option with a private pool and beach close by.

Bryce Street – Moffat Beach 

Just a few hundred meters down the street from the previous property, this is another great Bryce Street pet friendly accommodation, perfect for a family holiday in Caloundra.

This three bedroom house can accommodate up to 6 guests in two double beds and two single beds. There is an open plan lounge and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen and even a second small lounge area with large sliding doors out onto the deck.  The deck has additional extra seating and leads to the small grassed and fully fenced garden beyond, perfect for pets. There are two bathrooms at this property, one of which has a bathtub making it great for families with younger kids.

Like the last property, this is in a convenient location with Moffat Beach just a few hundred meters away and Dicky Beach about 600m away. There are also a couple of playgrounds around the car park and entrance to Moffat Beach to entertain the kids. 

Why we love it?

A second lounge area is a great way for adults to escape the kids for a while.

What’s not to love?

Unfortunately, this holiday home doesn’t have a pool, but the beach is very close!

This holiday home provides spacious pet friendly accommodation with a fenced and grassed garden area in a great location close to the beach and playgrounds for the kids.

Wilson Ave – Dicky Beach 

This beachfront Wilson Avenue holiday home is a great pet friendly option for any family who loves to be as close to the beach as possible.

This air conditioned, two bedroom holiday home can sleep 4 guests in one double bed and two single beds. There is a very spacious lounge and kitchen area, and the kitchen is well equipped for those who want to self cater. There is also laundry facilities and a balcony with extra seating.

The property is in a fantastic location, literally across the road from Dickey Beach and just 750m from Moffat Beach. It’s also just a 650m walk to the local dog park, Coochin Park. 

Why we love it?

We love the beachfront location and having a dog park so close is a great bonus.

What’s not to love?

Again, the lack of a swimming pool is a bit of a shame, but that just means you’ll have to spend more time at the beach.

This pet friendly Caloundra home provides comfortable family accommodation in a great beachfront location with everything you need to enjoy your holiday and a dog park within walking distance for your four legged friend.

Ivy Street – Dicky Beach 

This large Ivy Street holiday home is great for bigger families with young kids and pets or even those who just like a little more space to spread out.

The house has 4 bedrooms and can fit up to 8 guests in three double beds and two single beds. The large open plan living and dining area are comfortable and there is even a second lounge room, perfect for escaping the kids. The air-conditioned property has a well-equipped kitchen (with a dishwasher), laundry facilities, two bathrooms, and free WiFi.

There is a ground floor terrace and upper balcony, which both have access to a grassed yard area perfect for pets and it even has a small slide and climbing playhouse for kids. There is also a fully fenced private pool which the kids will just love.

The location is great for those bringing pets along as the house is just 150m from Coochin Dog Park. It’s also great for families, with Dickey Beach just 700m away and Moffat Beach only a little further at about 1.5km. 

Why we love it?

Having the dog park so close makes this pet friendly accommodation Caloundra has really handy and makes it easy to get out and walk the dog early.

What’s not to love?

Honestly, it was hard to find something. The price is a little higher than some other pet friendly rentals Sunshine Coast has, which are listed in this guide, but it is an 8 person house, so it’s actually very affordable.

Summary 

This accommodation Sunshine Coast pet friendly home is large and comfortable with plenty of space for the whole family, great outdoor facilities and even a dog park just down the street.

Ngungun Street – Dicky Beach 

If you’re after budget dog friendly Sunshine Coast accommodation, then you’ll love the Ngungun Street property.  This property provides a huge amount of space for kids and animals at a really great price.

The house has 4 bedrooms and can sleep up to 8 people in 2 double beds and four single beds. In addition, there is a spacious lounge room, laundry facilities and a large, fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher. The property has a nice covered deck with extra seating, and the grassed backyard is fully fenced, making it perfect for kids and pets to play.

The house is also in a prime location, right across the road from Dickey Beach and Coochin dog Park is just 550m away. Currimundi Lake is also just a 2.3km drive away. 

Why we love it?

The price really is unbeatable for the amount of space you get.

What’s not to love?

This property does not have air conditioning, so that it could be quite warm inside depending on the time of year, but most of the rooms have large sliding doors to keep the breeze flowing.

Summary 

This property offers affordable, pet friendly accommodation in Caloundra, which is in a prime location and has a safe backyard for your furry friend.

Watson Street – Currimundi Lake 

If you’re after one of the great pet friendly accommodation Currimundi has, it doesn’t get much better than this beachfront Watson Street property.   That’s right; this place has a covered deck area that looks directly onto the beach with an unobstructed view of the ocean.

This single level home has two bedrooms and can sleep a maximum of 6 guests in one double bed and 4 single beds. There are two bathrooms, laundry facilities, a lounge room and a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher.

The location is pretty hard to beat for those views of Currimundi Beach and better yet, the area this property is in is the dog friendly, off leash area, so your furry friend will be happy too. The house is also just 250m away from Currimundi Lake, which is great for a picturesque stroll and the perfect place for the kids to swim. 

Why we love it?

The dining area on the deck, looking out over the ocean is pretty special!

What’s not to love?

There is no fenced yard, so your pet will need to be well trained or be restrained/inside.

Summary 

If you’re after beachfront pet friendly accomodation Sunshine Coast has, then this is it!.  This property provides comfortable self-contained accommodation in a picturesque location where you can have dinner every night looking out at the beach.

Pet Friendly Accommodation Mooloolaba 

Unfortunately, out of all the places on the Sunshine Coast, Mooloolaba has the least amount of options when it comes to pet friendly accommodation. Also, as far as I am aware, there is no dog friendly beaches or off leash areas either.

Nevertheless, if you’re still keen on taking pooch to Mooloolaba, here are my top picks for pet friendly accommodation Mooloolaba, Sunshine Coast, offers.

Saltwater Villas 

Saltwater Villa is Mooloolaba pet friendly accommodation with a picturesque riverfront location within walking distance to the beach.

This air-conditioned two-bedroom villa can sleep up to 4 guests in two double beds. There is a small upper level balcony and a ground level terrace that is completely fenced and safe for pets. The kitchen is fully equipped and even comes with a dishwasher, and there is a lounge area with a flat screen television.

Guests also have access to a shared swimming pool and BBQ terrace area with extra seating overlooking the Mooloolah River. The location is great, with Mooloolaba Beach just 750m away and a supermarket just 450m away.

Why we love it?

The picturesque location on the river banks gives this Sunshine Coast accommodation pet friendly property a special touch.

What’s not to love?

The split level design does mean stairs, which may not be ideal for those with young children.

Summary 

This property is certainly one of the more dog friendly accommodation Mooloolaba has on offer.  Plus, it has a secure fenced terrace and beautiful views over the river.

Mayfield 23 

If you are looking for plenty of space and still want to be close to the action, consider Mayfield 23, one of the pet friendly accommodation Alexandra Headlands has on offer.

This five bedroom, two-bathroom house features a spacious, open-plan design. The fully equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, and the large lounge and dining area offer plenty of space for the whole family. In addition, there’s a balcony with an outdoor lounge area and partial sea views and a ground floor terrace with an extra dining area. This home also offers air conditioning throughout, free WiFi and laundry facilities.

There is a patio with an outdoor dining area and a BBQ and a 10m swimming pool surrounded by lush tropical gardens.

The property is 1.4km from a supermarket and just a few hundred meters walk from Alexandra Headlands Beach. Although dogs are not allowed on the beach, Nelson Park is 900m away, which would be the perfect spot for a family stroll. 

Why we love it?

The pool and outdoor dining areas are really large and make this already large property seem even bigger.

What’s not to love?

The décor is a little dated inside, but everything seems well kept, and the place is fully equipped.

If you’re headed to Maroochydore with the entire family, including your pup, then you’ll be pleased to know that there are a couple of dog friendly areas. Dogs are welcome down at the North Shore Beach and the off leash area at Keith Royal Oval in Marcoola.

In terms of pet friendly accommodation Maroochydore offers, I recommend you consider the following places.

Jungle River Home 

This Maroochydore pet friendly accommodation is an absolute bargain and would suit any family on a budget who wants their pet to be able to enjoy their time as well.

Jungle River Home is a beach shack style waterfront property with 3 bedrooms and can sleep up to 6 guests in 2 double beds and one set of single bunk beds. There is an open plan dining and kitchen area with floor to ceiling sliding doors to create even more space, and the kitchen has all the modern needs like a dishwasher. The home also features air conditioning throughout and has laundry facilities.

Guests staying at this dog friendly accommodation Maroochydore offers have access to free WiFi, a patio with BBQ facilities and a large garden perfect for dogs. There is also free private parking for guests. Cotton Tree Beach is just 1.7km away and there is the choice of two parks within a few hundred meters.

Anyone wondering what pet friendly accommodation Mudjimba offers will be pleasantly surprised by Mudjimba Sands, a sleek and modern holiday home.

This 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom property can sleep a maximum of 8 guests in one large double bed, two single beds and two sets of single bunk beds. The air-conditioned house features two bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, spacious lounge room and laundry facilities. In addition, guests have access to private undercover parking, free WiFi and a lovely outdoor patio with extra seating and BBQ facilities.

Mudjimba Sands is in a really great location, directly across the road from Mudjimba Beach and the Maroochy River conservation park less than 1km down the road. 

Why we love it?

There is heaps of space for everyone to spread out, so the family don’t have to be on top of each other.

What’s not to love?

Although the outdoor area is lovely, it would be nice to have a grassed area for pets.

This holiday home offers clean, fresh family accommodation in a great location across the road from the beach and has a small outdoor area for pets and kids to burn off some energy.

Joanne Street 

This Joanne Street beachfront holiday home in Marcoola offers kids and pets a great outdoor area to play.

If you’re after one of the pet friendly cabins Sunshine Coast offers, then consider the Mudjimba Holiday Park.  This holiday park offers guests on a budget the chance to stay in beachfront accommodation that even the pets can enjoy.

These pet friendly cabins Sunshine Coast offers are either one bedroom and sleep up to 4 guests in one double and one bunk or two bedrooms and sleep up to 6 guests in one double and two bunks. Both cabins have air conditioning, an open plan lounge/dining area and a small kitchenette with a hob, fridge and microwave. Both cabins also have a small verandah with extra seating.

The holiday park is across the road from Mudjimba Beach and has a swimming pool on site for guests and BBQs if you prefer to cook outside. 

Why we love it?

This is one of the pet friendly caravan parks Sunshine Coast has, which is budget friendly and right on the beach!

What’s not to love?

If you’re looking for affordable accommodation in Coolum, the Coolum holiday park is right on the beach and an excellent spot for families on a budget.

One bedroom villas can fit up to 4 guests in a queen bed and one set of single bunk beds. Coolum beach holiday park, two bedroom villas can fit up to 6 guests in one queen size bed and two sets of single bunk beds. All villas feature a small kitchenette with a hob and microwave and an open plan living-dining area. The villas are compact but set out well and a great budget option for larger families who would usually have to pay a much higher price.

Facilities at the holiday park are limited, but there are BBQ areas if you prefer to cook and dine outside. In addition, the direct access to the off leash area of Coolum Beach means that kids and pets can enjoy a play in the surf in minutes.

The holiday park is located right on the off leash area of the beach with direct access for guests, and there is also a playground just a 5 minute walk away. First Bay lookout is just over 1km away, and there is a supermarket within 600m.

The price and proximity to the beach are pretty hard to beat for anyone on a budget! 

What’s Not to Love? 

It’s a shame there isn’t a swimming pool onsite for kids, but the beach is so close they probably won’t mind.
