Coolum Holiday Accommodation – Where to Stay

The good thing about deciding where to stay in Coolum is that the area is not overly big. Coolum is basically one long stretch of beach and then a few other smaller beaches, which are broken up by rocky headlands. You can easily walk from one end of Coolum to other.

Coolum Main beach is located around the Coolum Surf Club and the beach stretches north for around 2km. The northern part of the main beach is backed by a large reserve and is also where you can find Coolum caravan park accommodation – which provides absolute beachfront spots. Along the road (David Low Way) off Coolum Main Beach, you will find a stack of shops, restaurants and cafes as well as a range of accommodation options.

Further south of Coolum Main Beach you will find First Bay, Second Bay and Third Bay – each of which are small beaches separated by a rocky headland. These beaches are not patrolled though so not recommended for swimming.

The most central area to stay is somewhere close to the caravan park along Coolum Main Beach.  This is where you will find the largest concentration of shops and places to eat as well as a playground for the kids.

Booking.com

Personally I prefer to use Booking.com as I find they not only offer a great range of Coolum hotel accommodation options, but in most cases, you don’t need to pay anything upfront AND you can cancel if you change your mind or find a better deal elsewhere.

I have provided links to Booking.com for the above Coolum accommodation or you can click here.

Coolum Beach Accommodation Special Deals

From time to time, you will find that sites like Groupon or Scoopon offer some great Coolum Beach accommodation special deals.  So you might want to check there before making your bookings.  You can go here for Groupon or here for Scoopon

Just note though – that usually once you book with sites like Groupon or Scoopon, there is no ability to cancel.

Airbnb – Coolum Holiday Rentals

Airbnb is also another great place to consider for Coolum beach budget accommodation – particularly if you’re after private Coolum holiday rentals.  Sometimes even some of the Coolum resort accommodation options are privately owned and advertised here for rent much cheaper than you will get on sites like Booking.com.

The conditions about cancellation for bookings made through Airbnb depend in the individual listing, so be sure to check this out before making your booking.

If you have never used Airbnb before, then click here and sign up and grab yourself $50 off your first booking.  If you’ve used Airbnb before, but your partner hasn’t, sign them up so you can get this discount.  Otherwise, click here and check out was is available on Airbnb around Coolum.
